Jahvid BestYahweh Best, Cal Heisman Trophy candidate is, sadly, as I write this, on the way to hospital having suffered a serious injury in today's game against Oregon State.

With 2:06 and Cal at Oregon State line, three yards in the second quarter, Best took over the Cal QB Kevin Riley, turned left and finally was about to score a touchdown, he jumped in the air. As he was in the air was beaten by OSU safety Cameron Collins, who pitched better with his left hand as Best was in the air.

When, as best coming down - that was about five feet in the air - his body bent so that your upper back on the lawn. Scored.

Best spread his arms as if frozen and did not rise.

Cheers turned to silence and both Cal and Oregon State players knelt to pray for Cal star running back.

In a quick moment, coaches and physicians came together with members of the Best family and a small group around him. After what seemed like an eternity waiting some how best to get up, all hopes were eliminated when a car and a stretcher was brought to the field.

Best was placed on a stretcher with what appeared to be a kind of large orange clamp around the neck and head.

As of this writing (actually was on my way to the game) there is no official word on the best of the injury or condition. The game is being televised by Fox Sports.

Best Cal Yahweh,Jahvid Best is the third leading rusher of all time and one of 16 Maxwell Award semi-finalists for the best player in the nation.

Oregon State is now leading 21 to 7 Cal in the second quarter.
